Fulham boss Marco Silva has thrown his support behind Ruud van Nistelrooy after he was booed by Leicester City fans on Saturday.
Silva masterminded a 2-0 win for Fulham at the King Power Stadium to pile the pressure on the Foxes as their survival hopes took a huge blow.
Van Nistelrooy was booed by sections of the crowd after subbing Bilal El Khannouss and was met with chants of ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’.
There’s been some suggestion from pundits that the Dutchman’s time could be over already, however, his managerial counterpart has leaped to his defence.

Managers always have period of success and moments where it’s not all going swimmingly and Silva knows that all too well.
Right now though, the former Watford and Everton boss is enjoying a purple patch but admitted that he has sympathy for Van Nistelrooy.
He said: “We all know what our job means and if you ask me if I have sympathy, of course I have. He doesn’t need it because he is a professional.
“We don’t take decision related with the reactions that we expect or not. He took a decision he wanted and expected to be the best for the team in that moment.”

Leicester are really struggling right now and it feels as if there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
The Foxes cannot buy a win, or draw, in the league right now and it’s led to the possibility of the Foxes matching an unwanted 24-year record.
Not since April 2001 have Leicester lost eight successive league games on the bounce but defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 26 January will see that unfortunate feat replicated.
It’s now or never for Leicester and time to show everyone if they are really up for the fight.
