Steve Cooper must make another addition for Leicester City after a deal for David Datro Fofana is complete.
Leicester City are looking to complete their fifth signing of the 2024 transfer window ahead of the Premier League season getting underway.
The Foxes have so far signed Abdul Fatawu, Micheal Golding, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Caleb Okoli on permanent deals.
All four additions will strengthen the club’s first-team squad in important areas but there is one position yet to be addressed in the current market.
After the aforementioned signings, Leicester want to strengthen in four positions, one of which is the striker department.
Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew was linked with Leicester in July but those rumours have since gone quiet.
This week, meanwhile, a fresh centre-forward has been tipped to make a move to the King Power Stadium.
The player in question is 21-year-old Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker, David Fofana.

It emerged on August 5th that Leicester are the frontrunners to sign Chelsea striker Fofana.
The newly-promoted team will face competition from European sides Villarreal and VfB Stuttgart but as of right now, it looks as though Fofana is on his way to the Midlands.
It is clear that Leicester need to make additions to their forward line during the current transfer window.
Patson Daka scored just four goals in 30 games as Leicester were relegated from the Premier League in the 2022/23.
Kelechi Iheanacho has departed the club on a free transfer for Sevilla and Jamie Vardy will miss out versus Tottenham Hotspur due to injury.
This means youngster Tom Cannon and Daka are the club’s only fit striking options going into 2024/25.
The arrival of Fofana from Chelsea would ease the burden on Cooper’s currently weak forward line but he should look to make further additions up front.
Why Leicester City must sign another striker after David Fofana
Cooper will no doubt be glad to have more numbers available to him in the striker department if Fofana signs.
But in truth, Leicester are taking a big risk if the 21-year-old is their only striker signing this summer.
Fofana made a name for himself in Norway, scoring 24 goals and assisting 10 in 64 senior appearances.
Since his transfer to Chelsea in January 2023, however, the hitman has struggled to replicate that form.
For the Blues, he has made just four senior appearances and is yet to open his account in west London.
In a bid to build experience, Chelsea have sent Fofana out on loan on two occasions, but neither of these spells went especially well.
The striker scored two and assisted on in 17 games for Union Berlin and found the net four times in 15 games for Burnley last term.
There were certainly signs of quality during Fofana’s spell at Turf Moor, but nowhere near enough to suggest he should be a starting striker for any Premier League club.
But given Leicester’s current centre-forward situation, that may end up being the case if Cooper does not bring in another attacker before deadline day.
Should he fail to do so and the Foxes are forced to play the first half of the season with Daka, Cannon, Fofana, and an ageing Vardy, their survival chances will take a big hit.
