Leicester City are looking to snap up a Liverpool player amid competition from a Premier League rival.
The Foxes are now just under two weeks away from their first season back in the English top flight.
Steve Cooper will be the man tasked with keeping Leicester City out of a relegation battle following Enzo Maresca’s move to Chelsea.
In a bid to boost their survival chances, Leicester have so far brought four new first-team players to the King Power Stadium.
Abdul Fatawu, Micheal Golding, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Caleb Okoli have all joined the club in the last couple of months.
However, Leicester want to strengthen in four positions before the window slams shut on August 30th.
A new left-back, central midfielder, winger, and a striker are all thought to be priorities for the Midlands outfit.
It emerged recently that Leicester want to bring Arthur Melo back to the Premier League despite his ill-fated spell with Liverpool.
Cooper is also aiming to take Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana on loan to bolster his striker ranks amid Jamie Vardy’s injury woes.

Leicester City want to sign Liverpool player amid Southampton competition
As for strengthening on the wing, it was reported last month that Leicester had opened talks with Arsenal for Reiss Nelson.
That move has gone quiet over the last week but another potential winger target has now emerged for the Foxes.
Taking to X/Twitter, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leicester have entered the race for Fabio Carvalho.
He wrote: “Leicester City enter the race for Fabio Carvalho as talks start for former Fulham player.
“Southampton had bid rejected by Liverpool last week.”
Details of how much Southampton bid for the Portuguese forward have not been revealed.

How will Leicester City use Fabio Carvalho
Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham in June of 2022 after an eight-year spell with the London outfit.
Since moving to Anfield, the 21-year-old has had loan spells with RB Leipzig and Hull City.
The Portuguese struggled in Germany but was able to score nine and assist two in 20 games for the Tigers.
Carvalho has never been able to hold down a regular place for his parent club, though, featuring just 21 times in all competitions.
However, Leicester could be the ideal move for the former Benfica academy starlet as he should have plenty of opportunities to earn regular game time.
Carvalho is a natural number 10 but he can also operate on either flank or in a slightly deeper midfield role.
Leicester currently have limited quality depth on the left wing, with Stephy Mavididi the only natural option in this role.
As a result, Cooper could deploy the Liverpool man in that position or potentially on the right while moving fellow new signing De Cordova-Reid into a more central role.
