Andy King is back at Leicester City.

King has officially joined Leicester’s coaching staff after Ruud van Nistelrooy confirmed the news in his press conference on Wednesday.

The Leicester legend is adored by the Foxes faithful after playing over 350 times for the club and is the highest-scoring midfielder in the the Blues’ history.

Additonally, King became the first player to win League One, the Championship and Premier League in his career.

Now that one of the Foxes’ best players has returned, what better way to celebrate this than his top five moments in a Leicester shirt.

5 – The late winner against West Ham United

With Leicester struggling in the fight for Premier League back in 2015, Nigel Pearson’s men needed wins and quickly.

Esteban Cambiasso had given Leicester the lead before David Nugent’s missed penalty was punished by Chiekhou Kouyate’s equaliser.

However, King came off the bench to score the winner in the dying moments to score his first goal in 12 months and earn Leicester a first win in nine games.

4 – Wonder strike against Manchester City

The season after Leicester’s infamous title win was a year of adjustment for the Foxes. No long were they the underdogs as they defied the odds by 5000/1.

Leicester had struggled to cope with this extra pressure until a Manchester City side, under the guidance of Pep Guardiola in his first season in England, came to town.

Claudio Ranieri’s side hammered Man City 4-2 in the pouring rain as Jamie Vardy bagged a hat trick but it was King’s goal that was the best of the night and a reminder of just how far the Foxes had come.

3 – Champions League debut

If you’d have told the 18-year-old Andy King playing at Leyton Orient away in League One that he would be representing the club that means so much to him in the Champions League.

King played against FC Copenhagen on 18 October 2024, helping Leicester to a 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium.

Although he didn’t score and his playing time reduced from then on, it was testament to how remarkable King, and Leicester’s, rise had been.

2- Andy King’s first goal for Leicester City

1 December 2007 is a day King will remember forever: his first senior goal. After breaking into the first team, the midfielder was given the chance to show what he was made of.

His first appearance came in a goalless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, however, his first goal was a lot more memorable.

Leicester lost 2-1 at home to Southampton that day but scored a 35-yard rocket to open his account and begin a wonderful adventure.

1 – Lifting the Premier League title

As mentioned earlier, King became the first player to win England’s top three tiers and 7 May 2016 is where he completed the trio.

King was actually on the scoresheet that day as the Foxes beat Everton 3-1. Every player lifting the title that day deserved their flowers, but for King, watching him hold the Premier League trophy above his head meant that little bit more.
