The transfer window has slammed shut for another summer and it’s been a busy one for Leicester City.
New faces were needed for the Foxes’ relegation scrap and Steve Cooper ensured it was a busy window of ins and outs.
Eight players joined Leicester City this summer, strengthening the squad in all areas of the pitch.
Despite that, there is still the feeling that some players got away from them and that an opportunity was missed to sign them.
With that in mind, we look at five players that Leicester should’ve signed in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Fotis Ioannidis

A striker was Leicester’s number-one target this summer and it looked as if there wouldn’t be one coming in until a last-gasp loan deal for Odsonne Edouard was confirmed.
Jordan Ayew was one of the transfer window pick-ups but was never brought in to be the main man leading the line.
Fotis Ioannidis was wanted by several clubs in Europe but Greek side Panathinaikos held firm and demanded close to £30m – something which the Foxes fell short of with an offer of £23m.
Should Leicester be struggling for goals in January this may be a move that they revisit.
Santiago Gimenez

Perhaps one of the more unlikely in the list, but it’s still a transfer that Leicester will rue for not even attempting to try and complete.
Santiago Gimenez is one of Europe’s most prolific strikers right now and was linked to East Midlands rival Nottingham Forest however Gimenez wasn’t interested.
This will likely be the last time that Gimenez will be seen as a realistic option for Leicester if he has another goalscoring season like he did in the 2023-2024 campaign, then Europe’s elite will also sniff around the Mexico international.
Armando Broja

Leicester’s financial issues mean that they’ve had to be careful with where they spend their money and look for different options.
After spending big to bring in Oliver Skipp and Bilal El Khannouss, the Foxes were short of cash to bring in a forward.
Armando Broja was an option that Cooper could’ve looked at bringing in on loan with a view to a permanent deal if he performs.
Broja has struggled to make an impact since returning from a long-term injury however he’d have almost certainly been a regular name in the starting XI at the King Power Stadium.

Gabriel Sara

The absence of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall meant that goals and assists from the midfield needed to be replaced.
Gabriel Sara was one of the fellow standout players in the Championship and Leicester did make a £13m offer, as revealed by The Telegraph, for the Brazilian, but their offer was rejected.
Sara ended up moving to Turkey to join Galatasaray for a fee close to £20m and it’ll be one that Cooper and the Foxes look back on with a feeling of ‘what if’.
Adam Hlozek

It looked as if the loan signing of Adam Hlozek was signed, sealed, and delivered – only for Hoffenheim to jump in at the eleventh hour.
Bayer Leverkusen had agreed to let the promising Czech Republic move to the East Midlands, only for the deal to collapse and Hlozek to decide to remain in the Bundesliga.
The move breaking down was a frustrating moment for Leicester supporters and Cooper as well and set the tone for the rest of the window and the Foxes’ pursuit of a striker.
