Leicester City have had serious issues on the defensive front in the 2024/25 season.
Ahead of their midweek Premier League game against Crystal Palace, Leicester City have shipped 44 goals in 20 matches.
This is the joint-second worst defensive record in the top flight behind only Wolverhampton Wanderers, who’ve conceded 45.

Though no one player can be blamed for such a dismal record, Wout Faes has been terrible in 2024/25.
Faes was woeful against Brentford on November 30th and that’s the last time he has completed 90 minutes in the Premier League.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has since preferred a centre-back duo of Conor Coady and Jannik Vestergaard, with the Belgian’s future at the King Power Stadium now being questioned.

Leicester need budget replacement for Wout Faes
The 26-year-old did start in the FA Cup win over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend amid injury problems.
But it’s since been reported that Leicester are open to selling Faes for somewhere around £15m amid interest from Europe.
Should the stopper indeed depart, Van Nistelrooy will have to dip into the transfer market to replace him.
However, Leicester’s January transfer budget is expected to be very limited, meaning they’ll have to be smart about who they bring in.
One man the Midlands side could look to target to sure up their shaky backline is Brighton and Hove Albion’s Adam Webster.

Why Leicester City should move for Adam Webster
Webster joined the Seagulls from Bristol City in August 2019 for a fee of around £20m.
He’s gone on to make 145 appearances for Brighton in all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
However, Webster has now fallen out of favour at the Amex in 2024/25. Granted, he did suffer a thigh problem that saw him sidelined for a while.
But even before that, he had only started one Premier League fixture before being taken off after 57 minutes.
He was left on the Brighton bench on four occasions prior to his injury and given he’s now 30 and in the final 18 months of his contract, it’s the perfect time for Leicester to strike.
Webster is unlikely to fetch anywhere close to the £20m Brighton paid for him owing to his age, limited game time, and length of his deal.
In turn, Leicester could sell Faes for £15m, make a move for Webster and still hopefully have money left over to spend on another player.
