Leicester City set seven-figure price-tag for player Alan Shearer has called ‘assured’

Things look to be finally heating up at Leicester City during the 2025 January transfer window.

The Foxes have had a very slow start to the winter window with no new additions yet to be confirmed.

However, that is expected to change this week, with Leicester City closing in on a deal for Woyo Coulibaly.

The right-back is set to join the Midlands outfit from Serie A outfit Parma in a deal worth around £3m.

Coulibaly is a right-back by trade so he will provide much-needed competition for James Justin but he can also fill in at right-back if needed.

Leicester were interested in Kyle Walker-Peters to fill the void at right-back but are said to have been put off by his £7m price-tag.

Away from incomings, there could also be at least one exit from the King Power Stadium in 2025.

Leicester City set Wout Faes price-tag

Reports emerged on Monday that Leicester defender Wout Faes could leave amid transfer interest from Europe.

The Belgian joined the club in 2022 from Ligue 1 outfit Stade Reims and has so far made 101 appearances for the Foxes.

Alan Shearer called Faes ‘assured’ earlier this season when picking out his Premier League Team of the Week.

But the 26-year-old has struggled for form this campaign and has fallen down the pecking order under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Now, following on from the initial report of a potential exit, journalist Tom Collomosse has reported on X/Twitter that Leicester would consider any offers in the region of £15m for the stopper:

Other Leicester City players would could leave in 2025

A transfer for Faes does make sense given his poor displays in 2024/25 but there could be other exits from the club as well.

Hamza Choudhury is expected to join Sheffield United on loan after failing to have any meaningful impact in the Premier League this term.

Cabeb Okoli has been touted to leave Leicester as well despite only joining the Foxes over the summer.

Should both he and Faes depart, it seems obvious that Van Nistelrooy will have to bring in two centre-backs this month.
