The transfer window is heating up as Leicester City prepare for a busy couple of weeks.

It’s a nerve-shredding time to be supporting the Foxes as Leicester could face a points deduction for breaching PSR this week.

Any points removed would put a serious dent into their survival hopes as Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men currently sit in 19th position in the table, two points from safety.

To add to their issues, the Premier League strugglers are yet to make a signing, although Leicester are close to confirming a transfer for Woyo Coulibaly.

The 25-year-old right-back will join from Parma in a deal worth a reported £2.5-£3m, with van Nistelrooy addressing a problem position this month.

It isn’t just incomings that have dominated the headlines, though, as it’s been revealed one star will ‘leave’ the King Power Stadium.

Wout Faes will ‘leave’ Leicester City amid European interest

Supporters are in for a rollercoaster end to the January transfer window. Hamza Choudhury could join Sheffield United this week after the Blades showed interest.

Leicester’s Tom Cannon is also wanted by four clubs having impressed on loan at Stoke City with 11 goals in 25 appearances this term.

Interest in some of van Nistelrooy’s fringe players doesn’t stop there as defender Wout Faes could be another who leaves, either in January or next summer.

According to Sky Sports France reporter Sacha Tavolieri, Leicester are looking to balance the books financially amid concerns over PSR and Faes could be one of the players who departs.

Tavolieri reports that the Belgian international has reached an agreement with the Foxes in the event an ‘interesting offer’ is put forward, claiming he will leave the club in the summer.

Juventus were linked with Faes a few months back and scouted him while he was on duty for Belgium.

Now, following interest from clubs in the German and Italian top-flight, the 26-year-old looks destined to depart sooner rather than later as van Nistelrooy aims to cash in.

Faes could have a big part to play for Leicester City

With Parma showing an interest in Caleb Okoli, Leicester perhaps won’t sell a centre-back unless another one is lined up as a replacement.

The above report has emphasised the Belgium defender moving on months down the line but Faes just produced a strong showing against QPR as Leicester thumped the Championship side in the FA Cup.

Faes has often been criticised by Leicester fans, though, who have pointed out his poor defending and lack of concentration as major issues.

However, the Belgian looked somewhat close to his best in Saturday’s win, rounding off his performance with a fine strike.

Now, whilst his future is up in the air and supporters perhaps won’t mind if he departs, the £50k-a-week star has a chance to show his worth even more on Wednesday night when they host Crystal Palace.
