Leicester City are all but relegated, but are still not mathematically out of it as they prepare to face Newcastle United.

The Foxes could set a terrible Football League record if they lose and fail to score at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has looked defeated on the touchline and the Dutchman needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat to keep Leicester in the Premier League.

There isn’t much hope from Leicester fans and everyone is making the same point about the lineup the Foxes manager should choose.

Leicester City fans demand youth players to feature against Newcastle

A lot of Leicester’s pre-match social media build up has been focused around on the young players.

Academy duo Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans have heavily featured, with some suggesting the amount of coverage means the club could be involved.

It’s a sentiment that is echoed by lots of Leicester supporters, who have given up hope on survival and want the Foxes academy players to feature.

@jhandford11 said: “Just play half the kids on Monday night. Doesn’t matter if we lose 7-0. Just get them in the shirts and give them a taste. At least they’ll put an effort in.”

@FoxesofLCFC added: “Would be nice to see him and some of #LCFC’s other impressive prospects getting some PL minutes. Can’t be any worse than what we’ve seen week in week out!”

@TAIEpodcast commented: “Monga and Evans have been the sole focus on social media past couple of days. Surely they are involved.”

@RisingFoxes stated: “If they don’t play him how after all these posts. Realistically though it’s just a pr campaign following yet another loss. They haven’t really posted him or any other academy lads this season despite them being fantastic.”

@cuzcuzverde said: “Honest question. What’s stopping us from playing with some academy kids so they can get a feel for bigger games considering we’ll need them next season?”

Jeremy Monga could be second youngest debutant in Premier League history

The one player that every Leicester fan wants to see is Monga.

Some of the biggest clubs in Europe are eyeing up Monga and it seems that the Foxes are going to face a battle to hold onto him in the summer.

Time will tell if the 15-year-old will make his senior debut for the club and if so, he will become Leicester’s youngest Premier League player of all time.

The record for youngest of all time will be just out of sight though as the winger would be 15 years, eight months and 28 days old.

Five youngest players to make Premier League debut

Ethan Nwaneri meanwhile was the youngest at 15 years and 188 days old so Monga will just miss out on the special accolade.
