The Foxes are entering a make-or-break period in the league with a clear opportunity to make up ground arising.

Leicester City’s recent run of form has seen them accumulate seven Premier League defeats in a row under Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Despite only recently taking over from Steve Cooper, the Dutchman is feeling the heat after coming under scrutiny from Foxes fans, who were clearly unhappy with some of the Leicester City manager’s decision making in the 2-0 defeat to Fulham at the King Power Stadium.

Despite such a dire run that is directing them towards yet another relegation to the Championship, with Opta predicting a slim 8.5% chance of Van Nistelrooy’s side staying in the Premier League, the Foxes need to be proactive in picking themselves up and mounting another run. The next five fixtures, when compared to Leicester’s fellow rivals, shows that, if the Foxes are going to return to form, it must be now.

Leicester City next five compared to Wolves and Southampton sparks opportunity that Ruud Van Nistelrooy must take

Leicester City have undergone a grim run in recent weeks, scoring just two in their previous seven, on top of 18 goals conceded.

Nonetheless, the Foxes are entering a period that will make-or-break their season when compared to their relegation rivals.

On the surface, the Foxes have a big challenge to get much from their next five, in which they will face off against Spurs, Everton and West Ham on the road, as well as welcoming Arsenal and Brentford to the King Power. In terms of winnable games, Van Nistelrooy will be eyeing up the visits to Everton and West Ham, as well as the home game against Brentford.

Whilst it looks like a challenging next five for the Foxes, this is a favourable run in comparison to the likes of Wolves and Ipswich Town.

Leicester next five difficulty revealed and compared to relegation rivals

The Foxes have the potential to make ground and even surpass the likes of Ipswich Town and Wolves in the coming weeks when comparing the set of fixtures on the horizon for both teams.

For Ipswich Town, the difficulty of their next five is very similar to that of the Foxes. The average position of Leicester’s next five opponents is 11.6, whilst Ipswich’s is 11.4. Kieran McKenna’s side in their next five will come up against Liverpool and Aston Villa, but will also have a must win clash at home to Southampton.

The area that Leicester can make up ground is on relegation contenders Wolves, who, despite a decent run recently, could be set to drop several points in the coming weeks.

The average position of Wolves’ next five opponents is a staggering 4.8, as they face off against Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Bournemouth.

With Leicester sitting just two points behind Wolves, it is clearly an opportunity to overtake their rivals at a time where they are almost guaranteed to lose ground at a pivotal stage.
