Leicester City have been handed an eye-watering prediction of retaining their Premier League status this season.
The Foxes were handed a seventh straight defeat under Ruud Van Nistelrooy at the weekend as Leicester City were undone 2-0 at home to Fulham.
It was a game that saw the mood turn particularly sour, with key moments such as Van Nistelrooy’s decision to substitute Bilal El Khannouss receiving a negative response from the fans.
After such a poor run of seven games, which have seen Van Nistelrooy’s side find the back of the net on just two occasions, conceding 18 in the process, all signs are pointing towards an immediate drop back down to the Championship.
The slim chance that Leicester City do have of mounting a terrific comeback and surviving in the top-tier have been rated by Opta, and it isn’t looking promising.

Leicester City handed slim survival chances following seven-game losing streak
The Foxes Premier League campaign so far has seen Leicester City struggle in front of goal under both Steve Cooper and Van Nistelrooy, and there has been a real lack of tangible product from the likes of Jamie Vardy for example, who Foxes fans have become accustomed to relying on for a scoring threat.
As a result of the abject disappointment of the recent run of defeats under the Dutch boss, Leicester City have been handed a very slim prediction of avoiding the drop this season.
Per Opta, the likelihood of Leicester City mounting a survival at this stage of the season currently stands at 8.5%, with them currently predicted to finish 19th in the table, only above Southampton.
This makes grim reading when compared to the Opta predictions made two weeks ago, which suggested that the Foxes had a 23.02% chance of remaining in the Premier League, something that has clearly been hampered following the recent run of losses.

Attacking woes continue to cause havoc for Leicester, a change is needed
With Leicester City’s recent record in front of goal having a significant impact on the results, it is clear that something isn’t quite working for Van Nistelrooy.
Ever since the Dutchman took over at the King Power, Vardy has been ever-present in the side, only not playing on one occasion in the league. During that time he has only notched two goals, a sign that he could do with being swapped out.
Admittedly, attacking options aren’t exactly in abundance for the Foxes at this moment in time, but the January window is the opportunity to offer some competition for the English talisman, something that will be needed if Leicester are to emerge from their current slump.
