Leicester could secure huge payday this summer after what ‘special’ player did vs Brighton

Leicester City ended a three-month spell without picking up a point or scoring in the Premier League this weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Foxes secured their first point in nine games as Leicester fought back to secure an admirable 2-2 draw away to the Seagulls, with Stephy Mavididi and Caleb Okoli both on the scoresheet for the visiting side.

With Alan Shearer arguing that Brighton should have had only one penalty, the scoreline could have been even better for Leicester had the officials been on the ball more at the Amex Stadium, where Ruud van Nistelrooy had to settle for a point.

Indeed, the result still puts Leicester in an unlikely position to clinch Premier League safety, but the performance might have put one player firmly in the shop window heading into the summer transfer window.

Bilal El Khannouss showed why he’s Leicester’s most valuable asset

Bilal El Khannouss has been a rare shining light for Leicester this season, with the summer signing from KRC Genk taking to the Premier League like a duck to water despite how poor the Foxes have been throughout the campaign.

El Khannouss was lauded as ‘special’ by Jermaine Beckford with Arsenal now interested in signing the Morocco international this summer, who looks set to remain in the Premier League regardless of what happens to Leicester this season.

And El Khannouss’s performance against Brighton once again proved to the world why the 20-year-old attacking midfielder could be set to bank Leicester a major payday in the transfer window, with the youngster stealing the show for the Foxes on the English south coast.

Indeed, El Khannouss is only at the start of his Premier League career, and a string of good performances between now and the end of the season could help the former Genk man secure a big-money move away from Leicester, a transfer that the Foxes will greatly appreciate.

Leicester need to sell Bilal El Khannouss for the highest price

Leicester’s recruitment policy has been rightfully criticised since returning to the Premier League, with the Foxes getting a lot of big decisions wrong in the market when it comes to signing players who could have helped with a bid for safety.

Yet El Khannouss was an unexpected hit for the Foxes, and this summer will see Leicester look to sell the Moroccan wonderkid for the highest price in the transfer window, where the King Power Stadium side could make a decent profit on the 20-year-old.

With big clubs like Arsenal already interested in El Khannouss, a strong flourish to end the season could see the youngster’s asking price balloon for Leicester, and the Foxes will hope to recoup as much as possible for the Belgian-born prospect to help build with a squad rebuild.
