Leicester City have endured a nightmare 2024/25 so far and things are only likely to get worse in the remainder of the season.
Leicester City won promotion to the Premier League in 2023/24 after dominating the Championship under Enzo Maresca.
However, the Italian, along with star man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, both left for Chelsea in the summer, and it’s been largely downhill from there.
Steve Cooper replaced Maresca in the dugout but managed just 12 Premier League games before being relieved of his duties and replaced by Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The Dutchman has not fared much better and is currently on a run of eight defeats from nine in the top flight.
Leicester’s January transfer window was a disaster and with fan anger at an all-time high and the club in a dire state, we have made three pretty harrowing predictions for the rest of the 2024/25 season.

Ruud van Nistelrooy walks out of Leicester City
Though fans are furious right now, the majority of their anger has been, and rightly so, directed at the club’s hierarchy.
Leicester failed to back Van Nistelrooy in the transfer market despite the former striker being told funds were available when he agreed to move.
False promises could now well lead to the ex-Manchester United man walking out of the King Power in the very near future.
Van Nistelrooy has a history of walking out on a club – doing so back in 2023 amid a lack of support from the management at PSV Eindhoven – and it would not be at all surprising if he took a similar stance at Leicester after being massively let down in January.

Facundo Buonanotte downs tools after being kept at Leicester City
Facundo Buonanotte has had a very mixed loan stint at Leicester, kicking off the campaign as one of their best players under Cooper.
However, since the change in management, the Argentine has completed just 90 minutes on two occasions in the Premier League.
Reports last month claimed that Van Nistelrooy hit out at Buonanotte in a heated rant, with his teammates said to have been surprised the South American was singled out.
On the back of all this, it emerged on deadline day that the Brighton loanee wanted to leave Leicester but as he’d already played a certain number of games, the Seagulls were unable to recall him, and the decision was left in the hands of the Midlands outfit, who opted against doing so.
With Buonanotte clearly keen to leave amid a lack of playing time and a potential row with Ruud, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him down tools and coast until the end of the campaign when he can return to the Amex.
Leicester City are relegated and hit with points deduction by EFL
Leicester avoided a points deduction earlier in 2024/25, escaping punishment from the Premier League and EFL.
However, a report last month claimed that if the club are relegated this season, the EFL will pursue sanctions in relation to the Foxes’ 2023/24 campaign.
At present, that looks like a very real possibility with Leicester sitting 19th and two points from safety.
