Crystal Palace open talks to sign £15m Leicester City target

Leicester City have made just one signing so far but they’re exploring a number of deals ahead of Monday’s deadline.

Leicester are showing an interest in Alisson, who’s widely regarded as one of Brazil’s best teenage talents.

However, it’s understood Leicester have already pulled out of the race to sign the attacker after becoming frustrated by Clube Atletico Mineiro’s delay to respond to their opening offer.

The Foxes have also been eyeing a centre-back to strengthen Ruud van Nistelrooy’s ranks and AC Milan’s Strahinja Pavlovic has been linked to the King Power Stadium.

With that said, a fresh development on Pavlovic’s situation has now emerged.

Crystal Palace open talks to sign Strahinja Pavlovic

Crystal Palace have now joined Leicester in the race to sign Strahinja Pavlovic and they’re in talks with Milan over a deal, according to Sami Mokbel.

There’s no word on whether talks are around a temporary or permanent deal, but it’s more than likely to be a loan.

Leicester’s links to the £15m-rated Pavlovic have gone awfully quiet and there were rumours that he’s not interested in a move to the East Midlands.

After the 4-0 drubbing against Everton yesterday, that stance will only be further cemented, so it seems Palace are in the driving seat.

Leicester have around £10m to spend

Judging off Leicester’s reported £10m bid for Alisson and the reluctance to increase their offer due to FFP restrictions, it seems that figure is their maximum budget.

£10m evidently won’t get you more than one player in the Premier League, so Jon Rudkin will have to be creative and try to secure an overseas loan on top of a permanent deal.

Evidently, van Nistelrooy wants a winger and a centre-back, so Rudkin looks set for a chaotic end to the window.

A telling 24 hours, or so, lie ahead.
