Things have slowed down on the transfer front at Leicester City this week when it comes to links but a fresh name has now been mooted.

We are nearing the final 48 hours of the 2025 winter transfer window and Leicester City have so far made just one signing.

The Foxes snapped up Woyo Coulibaly from Parma earlier in January but there’s been little activity since then.

Leicester have been linked to Patrick Wimmer but the Wolfsburg winger may prove difficult to lure to the King Power amid his potential price tag and interest from top Italian sides AC Milan and Juventus.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has grown frustrated at the lack of signings made by the Midlands outfit after previously wanting to strengthen in four positions.

One area was up front, though, and the club have now been linked with an exciting attacker.

Leicester City make offer for Alisson

With Tom Cannon now at Sheffield United, Van Nistelrooy has very limited attacking options.

Odsonne Edouard’s signing has proven to be nothing short of a disaster and he looks set to rot in the reverseves for the remainder of 2024/25.

Meanwhile, Patson Daka could be sold to ease PSR concerns and has seen little action so far this term anyway.

Now, journalist Andre Hernan has reported on X/Twitter that Leicester have made a €13m (around £10.8m) offer to sign Atletico Mineiro’s Alisson.

It’s added in the report that Leicester are in a rush to get a deal over the line this month but the player is under contract until 2027 and has a €60m release clause.

Everything Leicester City fans need to know about Alisson

The 19-year-old is a product of Atletico Mineiro’s academy and was promoted to their senior side in January 2024.

He has made 42 appearances for their first team, in which he has scored three goals and provided two assists.

Globo Esporte reported in 2024 that Arsenal were among a number of European sides tracking the Brazilian sensation.

He is a natural right-winger but can also play as a centre-forward and a midfielder, meaning he could be great cover for Jamie Vardy and the injured Abdul Fatawu.
