Leicester City can finally turn a corner under Ruud van Nistelrooy in February thanks to two players.

Ruud van Nistelrooy replaced Steve Cooper as Leicester City manager in late November following a run of two wins in 12 Premier League games.

The Dutchman has not fared much better since his arrival at the King Power Stadium, despite a positive start with a 3-1 win over West Ham United.

After that victory, the Midlands outfit went on an eight-game winless streak in the top flight, sliding down to 19th in the Premier League table.

That run was finally put to an end when Leicester beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Sunday to climb up to 17th.

Ruud van Nistelrooy set for double Leicester City boost in February

Prior to seeing off Spurs, Leicester fans were turning on Van Nistelrooy, with some even calling for him to go after the 2-0 defeat to Fulham.

While it’s easy to understand fan frustration after a seven-match losing streak, the former striker is still yet to be given a proper chance to prove himself.

There’s not a lot he can do about Leicester’s awful recruitment this month but Ruud will get a much-needed double boost in the month of February.

Van Nistelrooy confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Mads Hermansen should be available to face Everton.

He also provided a positive injury update on Wilfred Ndidi, stating the midfielder is making good progress on his return from injury and has taken part in some training sessions.

Wilfred Ndidi and Mads Hermansen will transform Leicester City

Saying that players returning from injury are like new signings is very cliche but for Van Nistelrooy, the returns of Ndidi and Hermansen will surely feel like that.

The duo have been two of Leicester’s best players this season and it wasn’t surprising to see the Foxes’ form fall off a cliff while they have been out.

Ndidi missed the Newcastle hammering, while Hermansen was replaced at half-time by Danny Ward, who went on to ship three goals in 45 minutes.

When they were both fit, though, Leicester won one and drew one under Van Nistelrooy in the league while in their absence, they managed to pick up just three points.

The Foxes’ chances of avoiding relegation are still low but having said duo back starting every week should lead to much better displays from Van Nistelrooy’s side – hopefully similar to the two positive results we saw prior to their injuries.
