Leicester ready to ‘listen to offers’ for £22m player with Everton mooted as potential destination

Leicester City haven’t had the most convincing transfer window.

Woyo Coulibaly has been Leicester’s only addition so far this month but it’s understood the club are working on a number of deals.

After Tom Cannon’s sale to Sheffield United, many expected the Foxes to use those funds to bring in further additions of their own, but so far, it’s not panned out like that.

Quite clearly, the club are still facing PSR concerns and that’s perhaps come from the unforeseen sacking of Steve Cooper.

At the time, Khun Top reportedly admitted that it certainly wasn’t ideal for Leicester’s finances, but they felt it was a decision they had to make after a disconnect between players and fans.

Now, it’s just come to light, that Leicester are ready to sell another first-teamer in order to ease their financial concerns.

Leicester ready to listen to offers for Patson Daka

According to The i Paper, Leicester are ready to ‘listen to offers’ for striker Patson Daka, with PSR concerns still looming.

Daka is evidently behind Jamie Vardy in the pecking order and has started just one league game, so it’s thought the club would be willing to offload him for the right price.

That would leave Odsonne Eduoard as the deputy to Vardy, so it clearly wouldn’t be ideal for Ruud van Nistelrooy by any means.

But that’s an indictment into the financial position Leicester find themselves in.

Everton have been mooted as a potential destination for Daka, however, the Toffees want to ensure any incomings this month are suitable long-term options, too, rather than just stop-gaps with Dominic Calvert-Lewin currently injured.

Leicester shouldn’t accept any less than £15m

Leicester outlaid £22m on the signing of Daka in 2021 and it’s fair to say, they’re yet to get a return on the investment.

The Zambia international has netted just 10 times in 64 Premier League outings and he left a lot to be desired in the Championship last term.

But, with all that said, it’d make no sense to offload him for anything less than £15m, especially to a relegation rival like Everton.

If they aren’t getting really decent money that can immediately be reinvested, then it’s not worth doing business.
