Leicester City have been handed some good news in their pursuit of a summer transfer target.
Steve Cooper has not had the easiest start to life at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes have made five first-team signings in the current window, with the latest Leicester signing, Facundo Buonanotte, earning high praise from Carlos Tevez.
However, while all of Leicester City’s new players will boost their chances of avoiding relegation in 2024/25, their squad remains somewhat short of complete.
Conor Coady and Patson Daka have picked up injuries in the past week and are expected to miss the club’s season opener versus Tottenham Hotspur on Monday, August 19th.
Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy is injured and his availability for the Spurs clash remains up in the air.
In a bid to strengthen their squad this summer, Cooper and co. have been working hard on several more deals.
Leicester want Bayer Leverkusen forward Adam Hlozek, while midfield also remains a priority position in the market following the exit of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Sunderland manager hands Leicester City transfer boost
Leicester want to bring Arthur Melo back to the Premier League and the Brazilian could prove a viable replacement for Dewsbury-Hall.
Elsewhere, after he shone at the 2024 Paris Olympics with Morocco, Cooper is considering a move for Amir Richardson.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, it was revealed that Leicester want Pierre Ekwah, with Cooper asking the Midlands outfit’s owners to get a deal done.
Now, speaking ahead of Sunderland’s League Cup outing on Tuesday, manager Regis Le Bris was quizzed on the future of the Leicester target, as per the Northern Echo.
And it is good news for the Foxes, as Le Bris stated that ‘everything is possible’ when asked about a transfer.
He said: “Everything is possible.
“At the moment, Pierre has only been able to play two games in pre season and in the second one, he got injured very early. So now he’s ready to play and to compete for the team.
“For sure, he needs some time to feel better and to build confidence and sharpness. So my focus is on tomorrow’s game and then after that, we will see what happens. At the moment, he is still with us and I have no expectations as to what happens.”
Can Pierre Ekwah replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at Leicester City
Ekwah joined current club Sunderland in January 2023 for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old made 14 league appearances during his first half-season at the Stadium of Light.
The former Chelsea academy product then cemented himself as a key figure in Sunderland’s first-team squad for 2023/24, featuring in 40 Championship outings, in which he scored five and assisted two.
However, the arrival of Le Bris has seemingly moved Ekwah down the midfield pecking order in the North East as he was left on the bench for their opening weekend win over Cardiff City.
Despite his struggles under new management, the Frenchman would be a quality addition to Leicester’s side for 2024/25.
He is defensively sound but has also shown he can provide a goalscoring threat if played slightly higher up the pitch.
Replacing Dewsbury-Hall, who scored 12 and assisted 15 last term, may prove a step too far but it is still a deal the Foxes should pursue now Sunderland have opened the door to an exit.
