Barcelona are looking at Wilfred Ndidi and are interested in signing him from Leicester City at the end of the season, when his contract expires.

Ndidi is one of many players who are out of contract at the King Power this summer and has interested parties from across Europe.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool both made enquiries over the summer, but a move away from the Foxes never materialised.

In spite of the rumours, the Nigerian has gone on to have a great campaign so far as Enzo Maresca’s side made a record-breaking start.

Barca interest in Ndidi

SPORT has once again reported that the Blaugrana still hold an interest in the midfielder and are keeping tabs.

They have described the Leicester man as: “one of the most desirable players next summer.” This is as Barca looks to build their squad economically.

Xavi’s side has done well in the free transfer market recently, signing Franck Kessie, Inigo Martinez, Andreas Christiansen and Ilkay Gundogan.

Now they want to add Ndidi to that list in the coming summer.

Foxes contract extension

At the time of writing, Leicester have eight players whose contracts are expiring this coming summer.

With big names such as Kelechi Iheanacho, Jannik Vestergaard and Jamie Vardy potentially leaving at the end of the season, there is some work for the Foxes to do.

Ndidi has once again become one of the most important players at the King Power, as he had been in the Premier League.

He has featured in every Championship game so far this season, registering some of the best midfield stats in Europe.

Not only in defensive stats has he been top-class. He registers in the top 2% for non-penalty xG, expected assists and progressive carries.

The Nigerian has had a great start to life under Maresca and long may it continue. If it is possible to continue his stay at the club, it must be done.
