Inter Milan are interested in signing Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer when his contract expires next year.

The Nigerian is yet to sign a new deal with the Foxes. He is one of the players set to depart at the end of the season.

He has been an important player for Enzo Maresca’s side so far this season. It is likely that the club will move to rectify the situation.

With that being said, at the time of writing, there is no deal on the table so he would be free to leave for nothing in the summer.

Inter monitoring Iheanacho

According to FC Inter News, are interested in the Nigerian and have ‘registered’ that.

The Nerazzurri are assessing lots of options as well as Iheanacho. There is no guarantee that they will come in for him.

Inter had shown interest in the City striker earlier this year, making enquiries about him over the summer. A deal never came to pass.

It is clear that the interest is concrete but with Iheanacho saying: “I love Leicester City. It is a good place, a good football club.” He may not want to leave.

Should Leicester let him go?

Come the end of the season, the Foxes could be in any manner of positions.

At the time of writing, Maresca’s side are far and away the best team in the league, with promotion looking likely.

In the Championship, things can change at the drop of a hat so if form starts to drop off, anything could happen.

If promotion is achieved then there is a strong case to suggest that Iheanacho needs to be signed on.

Moving from the Championship to the Premier League, continuity can be crucial and he will be a big part of that.
