The January transfer window is getting closer to reaching the deadline and Leicester City still have plenty of work to do.
Woyo Coulibaly is Leicester’s only signing this month despite pleas from Ruud van Nistelrooy to sign players in four key positions.
There has been frustration from fans and Van Nistelrooy himself, who has reportedly considered quitting due to the lack of activity.
Leicester still have time to change that though and have a strong end to the window that could have a massive say in their Premier League relegation battle.

What is a transfer window?
A transfer window allows for clubs to buy, sell and loan players during a designated period.
Transfer windows were first introduced in the 2002/03 season in the Premier League to allow players to have more contractual stability and stop deals that could jepordise a club or player mid-season.
When does the transfer window close?
This year, the transfer window closes on Monday 3 February 2025 at 11:00PM in England and Scotland.
Even though it is typically known as the January transfer window the decision to close it on 3 February was taken to align with the top five European leagues (France, Germany, Italy and Spain).
Meanwhile, the transfer window in Turkey closes on 11 February and the window shut in Saudi Arabia on 30 January.
What is a deal sheet?
Clubs can sometimes be left working right up until the deadline and, in some cases, after it.
Transfers aren’t exactly how they look when playing EA FC, there’s a lot of complexions to deal with.
Teams use a deal sheet to allow them extra time to submit the required documents for a transfer/loan that has already been agreed.
A deal sheet cannot be submitted before 9:00PM on deadline day and must arrive fully completed before the 11:00PM deadline.
The team in question will then have an additional two hours to submit the rest of the paperwork.

Can clubs sign players outside of the transfer window?
In short, yes. However, those announced outside of the window won’t be registered to play and in most circumstances, they are pre-contract agreements in preparation for the new season.
Can clubs sign free agents outside of the transfer window?
Teams are allowed to sign free agents outside of the transfer window and register players into their squad at any point.
How many players can clubs sign on loan?
There are certain rules surrounding loan signings for teams.
Premier League rules state that clubs can register no more than two players on loan at any one time.
In Leicester’s case, they are currently unable to sign any other Premier League players on loan as they already have Odsonne Edouard and Facundo Buonanotte.
Clubs also can’t loan more than one player from the same team at the same time.
