The transfer window may be closed but Leicester City are still looking at potential targets for the summer.

Only one player joined Leicester last month as the Foxes’ hierarchy came under pressure for their lack of spending.

Woyo Coulibaly, who impressed against Arsenal, was the only addition despite Ruud van Nistelrooy wanting to improve four key positions in the side.

Premier League survival is in doubt for now but preparations are already being made for the new season and Leicester reportedly have their eyes on a future Chilean star.

Leicester City transfer news: Foxes set to make bid for Dario Osorio

A winger is one of the positions that Leicester are seriously lacking quality in.

The form of Stephy Mavididi, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Jordan Ayew leaves a lot to be desired right now and with Abdul Fatawu out injured and Kasey McAteer the subject of a Sunderland bid, they could line up on the wing differently next season.

According to Alan Nixon’s latest Patreon post, Chile international Dario Osorio is set to become the subject of a £10m bid from the Foxes.

Osorio, who moved to Danish side Midtylland after impressing in his homeland at Universidad de Chile, is ready to take the next step up to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old is a regular in the Chile set up, making 13 appearances across a three-year spell so would qualify for a work permit.

Leicester would stand a better chance of signing him if they were to stay up, but it’s believed that the parachute payments received from relegation would help fund the move.

Dario Osorio likened to Alexis Sanchez

One of the biggest compliments a Chile international can get is to be compared to elite forward Alexis Sanchez.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona man was the poster boy for his national team throughout his career but now in the twilight of his career, his replacement is being earmarked.

As per The Athletic, Osorio is described as a player who has a “dangerous left foot, and looks comfortable operating in tight spaces.”

Sanchez has also heaped plenty of praise on his potential successor, saying back in 2024: “Dario has a lot of personality and that is important.

“You need that to play for the national team and at the highest level. Gary Medel and Arturo Vidal once had it and he has it, too.”
