The Leicester City man has plenty of offers ahead of the 2024/25 Premier league season.

Steve Cooper is steadily preparing his side for the tough task of the Premier League season, especially having lost key player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall just a few days into his tenure at the club.

As a result, the Foxes have ensured they replace the man who achieved a staggering 26-goal contributions in Leicester City’s 2024/25 Championship winning campaign.

Matt O’Riley has been targeted, however any progress for a deal for the Danish international has somewhat stagnated, whilst they also showed interest in former Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare before he signed for Championship outfit Sheffield United.

It has also been crucial for players to depart Leicester City this summer in order to generate funds, with one defender attracting interest from many clubs, however an update has emerged suggesting that there is still a distance between any deal being agreed.

‘Nothing advanced’ on Stoke City bid for Leicester City’s Harry Souttar

A loan move away from the King Power Stadium was reported as likely for Leicester City defender Harry Souttar, with Stoke City and Sheffield United reportedly interested in the Australian.

However, there has been ‘nothing advanced’ on Stoke City’s side to bring in the player, as he is gaining potential suitors from across the ‘UK and in Europe’, per Fraser Gillan on X.

The Foxes brought in Souttar in January 2023 from Stoke City during the 2022/23 Premier League season in which Leicester City suffered relegation.

Souttar was handed just three Championship appearances last season, with the defender falling out of favour with former boss Enzo Maresca.

Should Leicester City offer Harry Souttar a future at the King Power Stadium

It’s evident that Souttar’s spell at the King Power Stadium has been somewhat turbulent, especially having tallied just 15 league appearances across a season and a half.

However, his previous spell at Stoke City showed that he can be a powerhouse at Championship level, and after a run of games and an increase in confidence, he could certainly provide an option for Cooper ahead of the Premier League campaign.

At just 25-years-old, the Australian international still has plenty of promise to turn into a very good defender, and most likely would’ve been one of Cooper’s top defensive choices if he was given the necessary gametime under Maresca.

His experience on international level, where he has scored a staggering 11 goals in 30 matches at centre-back, could also be a crucial part of Leicester City’s already highly experienced defence.

With it likely being a loan move that will see Souttar temporarily leave Leicester City, they would be better off gambling on giving the defender a chance throughout pre-season and considering him as an option this season.
