Leicester City striker Patson Daka is being targeted by Brentford as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney, should he leave the club in January or next summer.

According to Football Transfers, Toney is set to leave the Bees in January, with the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United all reportedly interested in securing Toney’s services. Saudi clubs are also said to be monitoring his situation.

If Toney does leave, they will need a replacement, and have been looking at signing Leicester striker Patson Daka as that replacement.

Brentford are also not the only Premier League club looking at Daka, with Bournemouth also interested, after having a loan deal for him rejected in the summer. AC Milan are also said to be interested and are willing to pay €17.5 million.

However, Leicester are holding out for €29 million as they look to recoup the majority of the €30 million they spent on him two years ago.

Zambia international Daka has only played 26 minutes for Leicester this season, so it is looking likely for him to leave at some point in the next year, whether that is in January or the summer.

Manager Enzo Maresca has preferred Kelechi Iheanacho, summer signing Tom Cannon and club legend Jamie Vardy as the strikers he will be using this season. Vardy scored in Saturday’s win over Bristol City, whilst Iheanacho started upfront in the 3-1 loss away at Liverpool.

It is doubtful that Leicester will be able to recoup the €29 million they are asking for, as he has been avareg me in two seasons in the Premier League, and has barely played this season.

So there is not really much reason for a club to pay that much for his services, when can more than likely get someone better for cheaper.
