“Oh wow bring him please…” Leicester City fans react as contact made to sign £16m player

Leicester City are in the market for reinforcement this month.

The Foxes are languishing in 19th place, two points adrift of the relegation, and have lost seven games on the bounce in the Premier League.

So clearly, Ruud van Nistelrooy needs additions and with 11 days remaining of the window, there needs to be more urgency.

The £10m sale of Tom Cannon should help to facilitate incomings and it’s understood Leicester have taken out a loan with Australian bank Macquarie.

So there is expected to be movement into the King Power Stadium over the coming week, or so, and with that said, Leicester fans have been reacting to the latest transfer link.

On Thursday morning, it emerged that Leicester have enquired about AC Milan’s Strahinja Pavlovic.

The Serbian defender hasn’t had the desired impact since arriving in a £15m move from RB Salzburg last summer and it’s understood he could leave this month.

Leicester fans have taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to react to the transfer links to Pavlovic, who primarily operates as a centre-back.

@ZackyLCFC said: “He is a good player and can improve the current defensive line but the only worry about him is his technical ability which isn’t good. He might get the same treatment as Okoli. We have to wait and see what happens.”

“Wouldn’t mind this. Young and tall Serbian centre-back who looks like he has potential. Guarantee the board doesn’t commit to this any further and it goes nowhere. Won’t get my hopes up,” @kelsen_sachin posted.

@Pmadsen33 added: “Get him in! This is the kind of player we need.”

“Oh wow bring him please,” @Maxou_Brd commented.

@lcfcjoss said: “Yes please but I think we have no chance unless it’s a loan.”

“He’d be a good signing,” @PooleCarl69 said.

Milan have already rejected £17m bid for Pavlovic

AC Milan have already rejected a £17m from Fenerbahce for Pavlovic, so clearly he may be too costly for Leicester.

The Foxes are operating on a limited budget this month and have only been able to spend £3m on Woyo Coulibaly so far.

So at this stage, unless it’s a loan deal, it seems unlikely Pavlovic will be joining the East Midlands outfit.
