Leicester City star now on the verge of exit door as fresh development emerges

Leicester City have made just one signing so far this window.

Leicester completed the signing of Woyo Coulibaly last week but since then, there’s been no further movement.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is in need of further reinforcements as his side are really struggling after seven defeats on the bounce in the Premier League.

That’s left them in 19th place and they’re fortunate not to be further than two points adrift from safety, with their relegation rivals also faltering.

PSR very much seems at the forefront of their mind, so Leicester will likely have to operate on a sell-to-buy policy.

That said, one first-team star is now undergoing a medical ahead of a permanent switch away from the King Power Stadium.

Tom Cannon undergoing Sheffield United medical today

According to Sheffield Star journalist Danny Hall, Sheffield United are edging closer to signing Leicester City striker Tom Cannon as he undergoes a medical today.

Leicester agreed a £10m deal to sell Cannon on Monday and now the finishing touches are being applied before he joins the promotion hopefuls.

The Blades currently reside in second and look well-placed to make an instant return to the Premier League, so it’s certainly a good move for the young forward.

Now, for Leicester, the process to sign targets this month begins as they have fresh funds to spend.

Leicester should reinvest funds in a right winger and centre-back

Realistically, Leicester aren’t going to sign the desired five players this month, but two more feels more realistic.

The priority should be a right winger and a centre-back, as those are the two areas in which they’re weakest at the moment.

With Abdul Fatawu injured, City lack pace and endeavour on the flank whilst a centre-back to partner Wout Faes is certainly needed.

Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen has been linked to Leicester.
