Tom Cannon’s future is finally set to be resolved as he closes in on a move away from Leicester City.
Cannon was recalled from his loan at Stoke City earlier this month following plenty of interest from several sides.
Sunderland and Sheffield United appeared to be the two frontrunners for his services and now it looks as if it’s the latter who will win the race.
Rudd van Nistelrooy hinted at a permanent deal for Cannon and the 22-year-old hadn’t been included in any of the two matchday squads since returning to the King Power Stadium.

Sheffield United transfer news: Blades agree deal to Tom Cannon
On Monday it was confirmed by Sky Sports that Chris Wilder had got his man and that Bramall Lane would be Cannon’s new permanent home.
Reports suggested that a £10m fee had been agreed between the Blades and Leicester City, with just personal terms all that’s left to be agreed on.
Those terms aren’t expected to be difficult to finalise and the Republic of Ireland international will leave for over £2m more than what Leicester paid for him in 2023.

How have Leicester fans reacted to Tom Cannon’s imminent sale?
There has been a split down the middle of the Leicester fanbase in regards to the sale of Cannon.
Some Foxes fans labelled the sale of Cannon “a disgrace” whilst others realise it’s a good opportunity to raise funds to bring in new players.
Where it does leave some concern is the lack of striking options.
Jamie Vardy has struggled for form, Patson Daka has only scored one goal this season and Odsonne Edouard is wanted by Atalanta.
New recruits must be brought in quickly otherwise Leicester will only have themselves to blame.
