Leicester City are working to make their fifth summer signing as the 2024/25 Premier League season approaches.
The Foxes are set to face a tough battle to maintain their place in the English top flight following their promotion from the Championship.
Steve Cooper will be in the dugout at the King Power Stadium when the league season gets underway next week after he replaced promotion-winning Enzo Meresca.
So far, Leicester City have struggled to strengthen their squad too much in the first few months of the transfer window.
Michael Golding, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Abdul Fatawu, and Caleb Okoli have all joined the club but it is clear further additions will be needed.
Leicester want to strengthen in three positions before deadline day. A new striker, a central midfielder, and a number 10 are all understood to be priorities for the manager.
But Cooper and co. have had a hard time getting new players in over the last few weeks.

Leicester City make former Premier League player top transfer target
The Midlands outfit have turned to the Premier League to try and strengthen their squad this summer.
Chelsea centre-forward David Fofana has been linked to Leicester, with the Foxes understood to be leading the race to secure a loan deal for the Ivorian.
Elsewhere, Cooper was not so lucky with an Arsenal target as Leicester have been priced out of a Reiss Nelson transfer.
Now, a former Premier League star is been tipped to make a move back to England via Leicester.
As per Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, ex-Tottenham Hotspur forward Steven Bergwijn is now Cooper’s number one priority target in the current window.
Leicester are said to be ready to make an official offer to Ajax for the Dutchman, who is valued at around £17m.
MLS outfit Atlanta United are also interested in the player, recently seeing an offer of around £13m knocked back.

How Steven Bergwijn would improve Leicester City
Leicester have one final pre-season game before they take on Tottenham in their first league game of 2024/25 on August 19th.
So far, Cooper’s men have endured a rather disappointing pre-season schedule. Leicester have lost their last two friendlies and failed to score a single goal in either tie.
The Foxes’ struggles in the attacking third have been clear all summer and have been made worse by Jamie Vardy’s injury.
The addition of Bergwijn, however, would add some much-needed firepower to the club’s attack.
The 26-year-old is a natural left-winger but can operate as a centre-forward and on the right, offering Cooper plenty of options.
Bergwijn is Premier League-proven, having scored eight and assisted nine for Spurs despite never really being first-choice in north London.
The Ajax star is a seasoned international as well, boasting a solid goal-contribution record with the Netherlands – eight goals and three assists in 35 games.
