Three Leicester City transfers that could be completed on deadline day

Leicester City have had to tread carefully this transfer window, but it hasn’t stopped them finding ways to improve the side.

Financial restrictions and fears of another punishment for breaching profit and sustainability rules have meant Leicester City have had to take a more cautious approach this summer.

Steve Cooper had to deal with losing one of his best players just days into the job as the Foxes reverted to their old model of selling one star a season, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reunited with Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.

Despite this, Leicester have still signed seven players this window and will aim to have more through the door before the transfer window slams shut.

With that in mind, here are three players that Leicester could bring to the King Power Stadium this deadline day.

Leicester need a striker heading into the deadline and Fotis Ioannidis may be their perfect option.

Finding a new number nine hasn’t been easy though, with the Foxes failing in approaches for Adam Hlozek and Wilfred Zaha.

They did manage to bring in Jordan Ayew however he was never going to be the first-choice striker for Leicester this season.

A bid for Ioannidis went in during an earlier stage of the transfer window however Ioannidis’ club Panathainkos rejected the offer and reportedly want closer to £30m to agree on a deal.

They also reportedly face competition from Sporting CP for his services but with the East Midlanders making a striker their ultimate target, they may have to break the bank to secure Premier League survival.

Boubakary Soumare

The Foxes need to raise funds and trim the wage bill.

Having failed to live up to expectations since joining from Lille, Boubakary Soumare is one of the club’s reported top earners on £80,000-a-week.

For someone who earns so much, Soumare has failed to break into the starting XI and spent the 2023-24 season out on loan at Sevilla.

And with the recent arrival of Oliver Skipp, Soumare is expected to fall further behind in the pecking order.

Fenerbahce, Monaco and Roma are all reportedly interested in the Frenchman and the Foxes will be hoping for a bidding war and the chance to trim their wage bill.

Tom Cannon

Tom Cannon looks like he is out of the equation entirely at the King Power Stadium.

Fans have been impressed by the former Everton man whenever given a chance to play however both Maresca and now Cooper have used the forward sparingly.

Leicester’s determination to bring in an extra forward signals that Cannon will be allowed to leave on loan – should they be successful in their pursuit.

A move to the Championship seems most likely with Norwich City, Sunderland, Sheffield United, and Stoke City said to be interested.
