Chris Sutton believes that Leicester City’s trip to Southampton will be a close-fought contest.
The Foxes return to action today as they face Southampton away from home and try to secure back-to-back victories.
Saturday is already being touted as a six-pointer, with both sides knowing that three points will be crucial in their battle to avoid the drop, but for Sutton, there isn’t much to separate the two.

Chris Sutton reveals prediction for Southampton vs Leicester City
Writing in his BBC column, the former Celtic icon admitted that despite Leicester’s win last time out, there won’t be much to separate the two teams.
He said: “Leicester did get their first victory of the campaign last time out. It was a good win over Bournemouth, but I wonder if that will count for as much because all their players jetted off afterwards. The Foxes probably did not want the international break.
“Leicester won 9-0 here in October 2019, but this time it is going to be a lot tighter. A draw is not much good to Foxes manager Steve Cooper either, but that is what I am going with.”
Steve Cooper hopeful of ending awful personal record

After the relief of earning his first league win as Leicester boss, Cooper’s next priority is to address his awful away form as a manager.
The biggest criticism from his time as manager of Nottingham Forest was the lack of points they picked up on the road and so far this season, the Foxes boss has picked up one point away from the King Power Stadium. Even then, they threw away a two-goal lead at Crystal Palace.
In Forest’s first season back in the top flight, Cooper only picked up eight of their 38 points away from home and they only won once before being sacked in December 2023.
Saturday would present the perfect opportunity to end that run and with a game against local rivals Forest to come next week, ending that barren run would only boost Cooper’s rapport with the fans.
