Leicester City team news

Facundo Buonanotte could be a doubt for the Foxes due to returning from international duty with Argentina.

Buonanotte was called up to the World Cup holders’ senior squad and having been with them in the early hours of Wednesday morning, will only get one full day of training before Saturday’s game.

Victor Kristiansen returned early from the Denmark squad but will be available while national team counterpart Jannik Vesterggard should also be back in contention.

Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu are yet to start a game together and since Buonanotte may not be deemed ready to start, the Leicester boss could choose to unleash the duo against a fragile Saints defence.

Harry Winks was dropped for the win and Cooper may continue to go with the duo of Oliver Skipp and Wilfred Ndidi following their success last time out.

Patson Daka, Hamza Choudhury, and Jakub Stolarczyk are out with injuries.

Southampton team news

Gavin Bazanu is ruled out with a long-term injury meaning that summer signing Aaron Ramsdale will continue to deputise in between the sticks.

Will Smallbone is also out injured but there will still be plenty of names that could cause the Leicester side some trouble.

Cameron Archer has an eye for goal and could prove to be a problem for the Foxes backline and youngster Tyler Dibling is also a name to watch out for after making a strong start to the season.

Who is the referee for the next Leicester game?

Experienced official Anthony Taylor will be the man in the middle this weekend.

A controversial referee, Taylor has officiated at the highest level and taken charge of European finals.

In a game between Chelsea and Bournemouth earlier this season, Taylor handed out 14 yellow cards.

Southampton vs Leicester City predictions

The win before the international break was crucial for the Foxes ahead of three games that could make or break their season.

Southampton have had a difficult start to their Premier League campaign but will see this as their best chance to finally get a win.

On the other hand, Leicester have had Southampton’s number in this game in previous years, including the famous 9-0 victory back in 2019.

Saturday certainly won’t see either side score nine goals and it’s no doubt going to be a cagey affair, however, Leicester have enough to get themselves over the line.

Prediction: Southampton 0-2 Leicester City
