Leicester City suffered that familiar sinking feeling on Wednesday as Ruud van Nistelrooy saw his side slip to another defeat.

Leicester’s 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace condemned van Nistelrooy’s men to their sixth Premier League defeat in a row.

The Foxes produced a poor performance against the Eagles, resulting in Leicester fans confirming their own relegation at full-time.

In what started as a night of positivity, with Leicester announcing the signing of Woyo Coulibaly, it soon turned sour when Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring just after half-time before Marc Guehi doubled the visitors lead with just 12 minutes left.

This result leaves the Premier League strugglers in 19th position and supporters weren’t just annoyed by the scoreline, directing their anger at one decision Van Nistelrooy made.

Leicester City fans booed when Facundo Buonanotte was substituted

Facundo Buonanotte was selected in the starting lineup on Wednesday night after starring in their 6-2 FA Cup win over QPR.

Leicester fans were pleased with Buonanotte’s inclusion, and the 20-year-old arguably justified his selection as he was one of their brightest performers.

Buonanotte’s stats vs Crystal Palace

The above statistics paint a picture of the Argentine’s influence from a defensive and attacking perspective while he looked the most likely to unlock the visitor’s defence.

So, when van Nistelrooy decided to substitute Buonanotte for Kasey McAteer in the 66th minute, a chorus of boos rang around the King Power Stadium.

They perhaps felt that with the scoreline still at 1-0, the Brighton loanee could have produced a moment of quality they craved however, he was denied that chance.

Leicester’s upcoming fixtures are massive

Leicester fans were right to question van Nistelrooy’s decision but the players must quickly dust themselves down after their latest loss.

In the heat of a relegation battle, the Foxes could soon find themselves cemented in the bottom three, making their upcoming fixtures against Fulham, Tottenham and Everton huge.

Leicester are currently making a habit out of losing and when this happens, it’s hard to recapture success, leaving them fighting for their lives.

There’s no surprise that the fans are predicting relegation for the Foxes as they’ve scored just twice in the league in six games and have conceded a bucketload of goals, which is the recipe for relegation.
