Woyo Coulibaly has spoken for the first time as a Leicester City player after completing his move from Parma.

Coulibaly joined from the Serie A side in a cut-price deal reported to be worth £3m, with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.

The full-back, who can operate on either side of the pitch, is Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first signing as Leicester boss and helps strengthen a position where the Foxes were seriously lacking in options.

He now joins the club’s ongoing battle against relegation as they look to secure their Premier League place and climb up the table.

Woyo Coulibaly’s first words as a Leicester City player

Playing in the top flight of English football is the pinnacle for all footballers and the Frenchman is no different and cannot wait to begin the next chapter of his career.

In his first interview as a Leicester player, he told the club’s official website: “It’s an honour to be here. I feel very good, very welcomed and the training ground is very impressive.

“There’s been a lot of impressive players at the Club. It’s going to be a challenge in the Premier League but one that I’m very much looking forward to.”

When can Woyo Coulibaly make his Leicester debut?

Coulibaly has every chance of being involved in the squad for the game against Fulham on Saturday after not being registered in time for the game against Crystal Palace.

The full-back is expected to train with his new teammates on Thursday and Friday and is more than likely going to settle for a place on the bench at first.

His arrival comes at an important time with James Justin struggling for form and is the player most at risk of being dropped.
