Leicester City fans highlight worrying stat about Ruud van Nistelrooy’s lineup against Tottenham

Ruud van Nistelrooy has made one change to his Leicester City line up for the game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Leicester face Spurs as they look to stop a horrendous run that could see them match a record for the first time in 24 years – eight successive Premier League defeats in a row.

Bobby De-Cordova Reid comes in for Stephy Mavididi in the only change whilst new signing Woyo Coulibably settles for a place on the bench.

In a week where reports revealed that Van Nistelrooy may quit the Foxes, the team news hasn’t done a lot to settle the mood down.

Leicester fans react to lineup against Tottenham

It’s fair to say that the starting XI for the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has caused quite a stir, and not for the right reasons.

Posting on X, one fan said: “Honestly, what is the point in even turning up anymore?

“Bobby and Ayew on the wing we might actually be finished,” stated a second.

Another wrote: “Well that’s uninspiring…”

A fourth added: “Eight losses in a row incoming.

“RVN is begging to be sacked,” commented a fifth.

This person said: “Worst premier league XI you will lay your eyes on.”

Leicester’s front three has a combined age of 102

There is plenty to dissect from Leicester’s starting XI, but the one key point that fans have addressed is the age of the front three selected.

De-Cordova Reid (31), Jordan Ayew (33) and Jamie Vardy (38) have a combined age of 102 between them.

It could prove to be a tactical masterclass from Van Nistelrooy but it’s hard to see where any form of pace is being offered.

Counter-attacking may be where the Foxes succeed best but, again, that relies on pace.

Time will tell if it works but for now, there isn’t much hope from Leicester fans around the world.
