Leicester City travel to Everton on Saturday in a huge relegation showdown at the bottom of the Premier League.

Ruud van Nistelrooy stopped the rot last time out after Leicester clinched a 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday, ending a seven-match losing run.

The all-important three points saw the Foxes climb out of the relegation zone by a point and moved them to within six of Everton.

The Toffees have discovered a new lease of life under the returning David Moyes, collecting an invaluable 1-0 victory over Brighton last weekend after beating Tottenham 3-2.

Although a win for Leicester against Spurs should hand them confidence, Van Nistelrooy’s men are second bottom of the away table, claiming just eight points from a possible 33.

It means that going to Goodison Park will be a difficult fixture for the visitors and predictions ahead of the game have reflected that.

Roy Keane and Wayne Rooney predict Everton to beat Leicester

Speaking on the Stick To Football podcast, both Roy Keane and Wayne Rooney are confident Leicester will lose their 15th league game of the season.

Keane said: “Everton 2-0.”

Rooney added: “3-0.”

Gary Neville also agreed with his former teammate’s predictions but was torn between 3-1 and 3-0 to the hosts, underlining how little they rate the visitors’ chances of securing a result.

That being said, the match shouldn’t be as straightforward as the pundits are suggesting, with the recent history of this fixture going in Leicester’s favour.

Leicester City’s head to head record vs Everton

Leicester have joyful recent experiences against Everton, avoiding defeat in five of their last six matches and tasting their last loss in May 2022.

Interestingly, though, four of those meetings have ended in a draw, which could imply that a close encounter is in store this weekend.

But, Van Nistelrooy will be travelling to Merseyside intending to win. He knows that dropping points in these clashes could be detrimental to their survival chances.

Hopefully, Leicester can build on their massive three points last time out and create some breathing space between them and the bottom three.
