Exclusive with Graeme Bailey

The transfer window hasn’t exactly been a memorable one for Leicester City this month.

With five days of the window remaining, Leicester have signed one player in January.

It’s a return that’s left fans of the club pointing fingers at John Rudkin and the rest of the board as the Foxes face a huge fight to avoid relegation back to the Championship.

Last weekend’s win against Tottenham Hotspur was a step in the right direction, but, it papered over cracks.

There’s still time to turn it around though and Ruud van Nistelrooy will be hoping he can get all of the support he needs.

Ahead of the final few days of the window, Leicester City News can exclusively reveal what the Foxes’ plans are.

Premier League expert reveals Leicester City’s Van Nistelrooy transfer assurance

Before joining in November, Van Nistelrooy identified four key positions he wanted to improve.

One of those has been sorted already with Woyo Coulibaly arriving from Parma but it’s gone quiet since then.

Players have been linked and according to Graeme Bailey, Van Nistelrooy was promised he would be able to make three new signings this month.

He told Leicester City News: “Van Nistelrooy came in knowing what he has on his plate, it was never going to be easy but I am told he was assured he would be backed, with at least three new arrivals and one of those was a striker.

“A striker is still wanted, but I understand he has been far from happy with how things have gone so far and has made his thoughts clear to the hierarchy.”

Will Ruud van Nistelrooy quit Leicester City?

Rumours have emerged about Van Nistelrooy’s future ever since a scathing report of unrest behind the scenes at Leicester was published.

Among the revelations were stories of a fall out between Van Nistelrooy and Facundo Buonanotte and additionally, talks of the Leicester boss quitting.

The Dutchman allegedly feels he hasn’t been given the backing of the hierarchy, in particularly the transfer window, which could encourage him to walk.

Chuba Akpom has been linked and would fit the bill in terms of finding a striker but work needs to be done quickly and efficiently.
