Leicester City are facing an even bigger battle to secure Premier League survival after yet another defeat.

Crystal Palace beat Leicester 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night to make it six defeats in a row.

Some Leicester fans believe that relegation is already inevitable for the Foxes and as the East Midlanders sit 19th in the table, two points away from safety, it’s hard to disagree.

Jannik Vestergaard allowed Jean-Philippe Mateta to stay onside before he burst past the Dane with ease, then rounding Jakub Stolarcyzk to give the visitors the lead.

Marc Guehi was then afforded too much time from a set piece and thundered home to double Palace’s lead.

It was another night to forget for Ruud van Nistelrooy as he walked off to boos around the ground at full time.

Ruud van Nistelrooy reacts to Leicester City defeat

Facing the media after yet another loss is never an easy task but Van Nistelrooy stepped in front of the TV cameras once again with zero points.

It’s now four points from nine games in charge and the Dutchman admitted he was surprised by the drop off from his team after the break following their strong first half.

He told TNT Sports: “I think the difference between the first and second half was something I didn’t see coming and it was big.

“It was a very good and energetic first half and the second half was very poor. They had a bit of momentum out of the dressing room. That first goal was in and I thought there that the confidence dropped a bit.

“We have to look at what we created in the firts half. We have to grab the momentum ourselves with the goal and build on that. We have to keep going. We couldn’t get the chances in the second half and it was really difficult at 2-0.

“Six without a win is not good enough. You can’t keep talking about performances. We need to win and that needs to happen soon.”

Leicester fans boo hierarchy at full time of Crystal Palace defeat

Patience is beginning to wear thin amongst the Leicester fanbase and frustrations certainly boiled over in the stands.

A lot of Leicester fans want John Rudkin to leave and cite him as the main reason behind the Foxes’ struggles in the transfer market and off-field financial woes.

Fans chanted for Rudkin to go in the second half, with the song becoming more prominent as the minutes ticked down.

Asked about the boos, Van Nistelrooy insisted that it is “vital In difficult times to stay together.”
