Leicester City are top of the table going into the October international break after a top-class start to the season. Who have been their best players? Let’s take a look at the Power Rankings.

Given relegation from the Premier League last season, it would be fair for Leicester to have struggled to deal with the drop.

This couldn’t have been further from the truth. Six wins from six in league and cup to begin the season was perfection.

Even a narrow loss against Hull City wasn’t enough to derail Enzo Maresca’s side.

Following that, six consecutive Championship wins which were only disrupted by a narrow defeat away to Liverpool in the cup.

Let’s take a look at Leicester City’s Power Rankings and see just how good the players have been.

Leicester City Power Rankings

1. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Simply put, Dewsbury-Hall has been the jewel in the crown this season.

Five goals and three assists so far across just 900 minutes. Averaging a goal involvement almost every game.

Not only does he score goals, he creates chances for his teammates. He fits into Maresca’s team seamlessly and is one of the most important cogs in the Foxes’ machine.

A deserved first place in the Power Rankings.

2. Stephy Mavididi

The first new signing on this list and what a signing he has been.

The Englishman came with plenty of hype from Montpellier and has lived up to that so far this season.

He started with two goals and two assists in his first six Championship games. Despite his output slowing down recently, he is still performing.

3. Wout Faes

One of the comeback stories of the season so far.

Last season Faes struggled, there is no hiding that, but he has bounced back to become one of the Foxes’ most important players.

Six clean sheets and a goal so far this season and he is showing no signs of slowing down.

4. Kasey McAteer

Despite all the big signings, an academy prospect has stepped up.

McAteer has had two loan spells away from the King Power but had only ever managed one goal. This season he already has five, including one at Anfield.

He suffered an injury against Blackburn but his start to the season has been electric and he is well deserving of this spot in the Power Rankings.

5. Jannik Vestergaard

Another centre-back, another amazing comeback story.

For whatever reason, since signing from Southampton, it hadn’t gone well for Vestergaard but he has switched that round.

He has contributed to five clean sheets and has been a colossus at the back. Well deserving his spot in the top 10 Power Rankings.

6. Callum Doyle

Now, this one has a caveat. Doyle had been one of the most important players and Maresca used him as an example for all his players.

An injury against Bristol City has threatened to derail his season, keeping him out until the new year.

With all this being said, on the left side of defence, he had been great given his young age. He would be higher up the Power Rankings if not for his injury.

7. Ricardo Pereira

The captain has led by example this season.

Despite not contributing to as many assists as he may have liked, clean sheets are like gold dust and there’s been plenty.

He stepped up, in spite of relegation, to perform when the Foxes needed him. Well deserving of a mention on this list.

8. Kelechi Iheanacho

Yet another man who could have left this summer but has stayed and got on with it.

Iheanacho has been great so far. Hasn’t had a strop over squad rotation and still managed to contribute to five goals.

Maresca’s ideology revolves around rotation and the Nigerian has got on board. He is one of the key men moving forward.

9. Harry Winks

This man is the metronome of this Leicester team.

He hasn’t got any goals or assists to his name yet, but that isn’t his game.

Winks has a pass completion of 95% and if that wasn’t impressive enough he has made over 900 passes in just 11 matches.

Combining with Wilfred Ndidi and Dewsbury-Hall has been a joy to watch. Well deserving of a place in the Power Rankings.

10. Jamie Vardy

We couldn’t talk about Leicester without talking about Vardy.

At 36-years old, he is still contributing to goals as he has done throughout his career at the King Power.

Five goal involvements in just 500 minutes so far is very impressive and has contributed to many wins this season.

With plenty of youth coming in, the old guard is still showing its quality for the Foxes.
