Enzo Maresca has now been criticised for his ‘unusual’ decision during Leicester’s loss to Middlesbrough.
Leicester were likely shocked when they saw a second defeat in as many weeks and the first consecutive loss of Enzo Maresca‘s time at the club.
In defeat, Ipswich have drawn level on points despite the fact that up until two weeks ago the Foxes looked like the runaway and record-breaking champions.
But after being defeated by Michael Carrick’s side, Leicester and Maresca have been warned about improvements being needed.
Now, Maresca has been criticised for his decisions which led to defeat against Boro.

EFL pundit criticises Leicester
Speaking on the What the EFL?! podcast, Adrian Clarke who is an EFL pundit had some criticisms for Maresca.
“It’s a blippage for Leicester, nothing more. They still play great stuff. The manager, you could argue is overthinking it a touch.
“He has worked with Pep a long time, and that must have rubbed off to a degree, we’ve seen him do some really unusual things which in the main have worked this season at Leicester. Kasey McAteer at right back surprised me, because he’s got Ricardo – a right back – in midfield ahead of him on his inside then you’ve got Fatawu on the right wing as well.
“They were all sort of jumbled around and I don’t think McAteer had the best time on his comeback from injury, I think he’s really more effective in one of those wing positions.”
Ahead of the January transfer window, Maresca needs to figure out what he wants from these players and what needs to be brought in.
Maresca needs to keep it simple
Pep Guardiola is notorious for overthinking with tactics on occasion which Maresca seems to have learned from.
Going forward, in order to get back to winning ways, Maresca needs to keep it simple. Ideas such as playing Kasey McAteer at right back when he has been impressive on the wing this season is luicrous.
Leicester have the quality by far to walk over most teams in the league so he doesn’t need to complicate things with weird tactical ideas.
Keep it simple and Leicester will get back to their dominant selves.
