A former Leicester City player is being targeted by Premier League rivals Everton.
The January transfer window opened on 1 January 2025, giving clubs until 3 February to complete any deals and make the final adjustments to their squad.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to be busy in his first window as Leicester boss and will want to bring in new faces.
Leicester will hope that any new additions coming in will be able to help them leapfrog their rivals and secure their place in the top flight for next season.
Everton are one of those clubs and with the Toffees facing some tough fixtures compared to Leicester, they also have additions in mind.
One of those is someone the Foxes will be familiar to after the role he played in the Championship-winning campaign last season.

Everton transfer news: Galatasaray winger Yunus Akgun linked with Goodison Park move
According to Turkish outlet Takvim, Everton want to sign Yunus Akgun from Galatasaray.
Akgun spent the 2023/24 season on loan at the King Power Stadium from the Turkish giants, but didn’t set the world alight.
He scored one goal in his time in the East Midlands, a lovely strike against Birmingham City in the FA Cup, but was largely restricted to appearances off the subs bench.
Since returning to his native Turkey however, the 24-year-old has been one of the stars of the side.
Akgun is the top scorer in the Europa League and has 10 goals and six assists in all competitions. Galatasaray aren’t in a rush to seel though and reportedly would command a significant fee to prize him away.
Leicester set to rival Everton for Sean Longstaff
It’s not the first time Leicester have had links to Everton in the early stages of this transfer window.
Reports have claimed that both Leicester and Everton are interested in Sean Longstaff, who has been made available by Newcastle United.

Longstaff has played in 16 of the 19 games for the Magpies this season but only started eight of them and with 18 months left on his contract, could move on from St James’ Park.
The Foxes have multiple options in that area of the pitch, but, with midfielder Shea Charles also being linked to Leicester, there are signs that they still feel they can upgrade.
