Leicester City have been cut 15 points adrift from safety are a run of 14 defeats in 15 games.

Evidently, that’s made Ruud van Nistelrooy’s position almost untenable as he continues to break embarrassing records.

Leicester became the first side in Premier League history to lose eight consecutive home games without scoring on Monday night when Newcastle United picked up a convincing 3-0 win.

Foxes fans have completely lost faith in van Nistelrooy and have called for Khun Top to sack him just four months into his tenure.

There have been a number of managers linked to replace him and with all that said, here’s everything we know about the Dutchman’s future and potential successor.

What we know about Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future at Leicester

Leicester City News spoke to journalist Graeme Bailey earlier this week, who provided us the very latest on Van Nistelrooy’s future.

Bailey understands the Leicester boss is highly likely to leave.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future has not officially been decided, but I am told at this point it is highly unlikely he continues, not impossible, but unlikely,” Bailey said.

He also added: “There is no denying that work is already being done on possible candidates to replace him.”

Liam Rosenior

Bailey has also revealed to the site that former Hull City and current RC Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior is one to watch if and when Van Nistelrooy departs.

“I would keep an eye on Liam Rosenior for sure, his stock is massively high. We know Southampton like him, and so no shock that Leicester would be looking, but don’t rule out Chelsea/BlueCo from tying him down to a new long-term deal too.”

A Hull expert said Rosenior would be ‘licking his lips’ at the prospect of joining Leicester this summer.

Russell Martin

The second manager on Leicester’s managerial shortlist is believed to be former Southampton manager Russell Martin.

City’s hierarchy believe his style mirrors Enzo Maresca’s, which players really warmed to during the 2023/24 season.

Martin has already dropped a subtle hint that he’d be willing to join Leicester.

Danny Rohl

Last but not least is Danny Rohl, who has impressed at Sheffield Wednesday despite operating on a shoestring budget.

Rohl completed a remarkable great escape last season and has established Wednesday as a mid-table side this term.

The only issue is, RB Leipzig are eyeing Rohl, so it’ll be a difficult appointment to pull off.
