Gary Lineker has revealed his thoughts on the Leicester City managerial option of David Moyes.
Leicester City are now preparing for life without former boss Steve Cooper as they look to recruit his successor.
Cooper’s short spell at the club was brought to an abrupt conclusion due to a myriad of reasons, stemming from the lack of confidence within the squad in regards to his tactics, to some strange decisions in dropping key players.
Moving on from Cooper’s reign, several names have already been touted to take over the top job in Leicestershire, with Graham Potter being a top option, alongside Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Carlos Corberan is also a name that has been mentioned as a key target for the Foxes, alongside former West Ham boss David Moyes, whose links Leicester legend Gary Lineker has now commented on.

Gary Lineker comments on David Moyes Leicester City managerial link
Former West Ham boss Moyes has racked up many years of experience in the Premier League, with 697 games in management racked up, coming out with an average ppg of 1.42.
Lineker has not ruled out a potential appointment of the Scotsman, who has also managed Everton, Man United and Sunderland in the top-tier, to which he said, per The Rest Is Football on Spotify: “I’d be almost astonished if they haven’t got someone in mind, because just to do that on a whim and then suddenly think ‘right who are we gonna get?’
“The first rumour I heard was David Moyes, which would certainly be a safe pair of hands with someone who’s been around the block, I think he’d probably be a safe appointment.”
The 2022/23 campaign notably saw him win his, and West Ham’s first ever European trophy after they beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the Uefa European Conference League Final.

David Moyes suits perfectly as a stop-gap option for the Foxes
If Leicester City were in the market for a long-term option at the club, Moyes would likely not be the best option, however there should be a sense of realism that the Foxes should be looking for a quick fix to their woes.
As a result, Moyes suits the bill perfectly of someone with a track-record in the Premier League, and would be very suitable as an option until the end of the 2024/25 campaign, with the hope that he can prevent them from succumbing to the drop, leaving his successor in a decent position.
