‘I’ll pack his bags’… Leicester City fans completely agree that ‘useless’ player should leave the club

It’s been a terrible season for Leicester City, and as a result, hardly anyone has stood out at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes find themselves in the bottom three and nine points from safety while their top scorer remains Jamie Vardy, who has found the net seven times.

Vardy sees his contract expire in 2025, and there’s a chance he could leave Leicester City this summer after over 13 years at the club.

The 38-year-old is still someone Ruud van Nistelrooy relies on to deliver, yet the Englishman has scored just once in his last 13 games.

But whilst Leicester set an unwanted Premier League record at the weekend, becoming the first team to lose seven home matches in a row without scoring, defence is arguably a bigger problem.

Leicester City fans demand that Wout Faes is sold

In 2024/25, Leicester have the second-worst back line in the top-flight, with only Southampton conceding more than their total of 65.

Centre-back Wout Faes is a huge reason why they’ve struggled, and the 26-year-old isn’t a popular figure at the club.

Faes at fault for Rasmus Hojlund’s goal against Manchester United, as highlighted by Van Nistelrooy himself, and the Belgian has just been pretty woeful without.

Amid talks of him leaving the club this summer, fans took to X to voice their opinion, and unsurprisingly, they demanded he makes an exit.

“Sooner the better…honestly though, who the hell is going to buy him,” one person wrote.

“Utterly useless – can’t wait,” another commented while a third replied: “His sole contribution to the Premier League has been 2 goals for Liverpool.”

“Out of curiosity….who wants him?” one fan questioned while a sixth said: “Should have gone at the start of the season. Another player who thinks he’s better than what he is.”

“That will be the best business we have done for a long time,” another fan stated in the discussion to sell him.

Matt Piper’s assessment of Wout Faes

Faes isn’t good enough for the Premier League, and even if Leicester suffer relegation, he shouldn’t be a part of the club’s long-term plans.

Although he starred in the second-tier last time, with his contract expiring in 2026 and his inflated wages, it’s best for all parties if he’s sold.

Galatasaray wanted Faes in January but were put off by Leicester’s £16 million asking price, which is understandable considering how poor he’s been.

In the loss to Man United, former winger Matt Piper accused Faes of playing like a six-year-old after his error for Hojlund’s goal.

“Wout Faes – an international defender – was defending like a six-year-old,” Piper said.

“The reason why I use that terminology is because when you’re teaching a six-year-old how to play football, and defend in particular, that is what a six-year-old would do without any coaching.

“Earlier this season, we were saying that Faes was making mistakes and walking around with his chest out and shoulders up, so we were thinking it was arrogance – but I don’t think that anymore.”
