Leicester City fell to defeat once again, despite putting in one of their best performances of the season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was left ‘hurt’ by the Leicester result as goals from Savinho and Erling Haaland earned Manchester City a first win in six games.
The loss means that the Foxes are now two points adrift of safety in the Premier League heading into 2025.

Several Leicester players impressed as the East Midlanders went toe-to-toe with the reigning champions, but couldn’t turn that into a win.
Pep Guardiola admitted that Leicester were the better side on the day and on another day, the Foxes’ performance could’ve warranted them a result, as was proven by one incredible feat.

Leicester City’s incredible feat against Man City
Looking at the stats of the game at the King Power Stadium, you’d be forgiven for scratching your head and wondering how Leicester didn’t get anything from the game.
As well as having the majority of the ball, as well as recording 11 shots on target, the Foxes managed to do something that only seven other sides have done to a Man City side managed by Guardiola.
According to Opta Analyst, Van Nistelrooy’s side became the eighth team to complete 500 plus passes against a Guardiola-managed Man City team.
One of those at the centre of those passes was Bilal El Khannouss, who impressed Leicester fans once again.
Whilst it’s an accolade that doesn’t earn a side any extra points in the league table, it’s something that will encourage Van Nistelrooy that can be applied to games going forward.
Harry Winks is crucial to Leicester’s possession-based style of play
In addition to El Khannouss, nobody is surprised to see one of the best passers in the team was Harry Winks.
The 28-year-old completed 60 out of 63 passes against the Premier League champions and had 67 touches of the ball.

Winks was spotted talking to Guardiola at full time where he was no doubt receiving praise from the Catalonian for his display in the middle of the park.
His partnership alongside Boubakary Soumare has seen notable improvements in the midfield over the past two games and could be what helps Van Nistelrooy get that second win as Leicester boss.
