Leicester City are working hard behind the scenes to appoint a new manager.
The Foxes sacked Steve Cooper on Sunday less than six months into his three-year contract and he leaves Leicester 16th in the table.

A host of names have been linked with the Leicester job however the two outstanding candidates appear to be Graham Potter and Ruud van Nistelrooy, with Van Nistelrooy reportedly approached.
With a tough run of fixtures to come, the Foxes need to get the appointment done quickly and hope whoever comes in can hit the ground running.
Leicester want new manager in for Brentford game
Sacking Cooper felt like it was a decision that had been in the making and that plans have been put into place to get a replacement in quickly.
According to Leicestershire Live, the Foxes want to have a new manager in place for Saturday’s trip to Brentford.
If they are to succeed in finalising a quick appointment it will be a drastic change in comparison to Leicester’s previous history of appointing a new manager.
It took three weeks for the club to appoint Cooper as Enzo Maresca’s successor after he departed for Chelsea. The quickest turnaround was eight days, when they replaced Brendan Rodgers with Dean Smith.

What would the first five games look like for the new manager?
Whoever takes the reins knows that they will be coming into a period of games that could well define whether the Foxes are a Premier League club or a Championship one at the end of the season.

Starting off is a tough away trip to Brentford on Saturday. Brentford have the best home record in the top flight and the new manager would’ve had very little time to implement his strategy onto the side.
Three days later and they’re back in action again, this time at home to fellow strugglers West Ham United before facing Brighton & Hove Albion on 7 December.

Newcastle United away then follows on 14 December, a game not many will expect them to win given the gulf between the two sides financially, and on the pitch.
The final of those five games is at home to Wolves on 22 December – a game that could play the biggest part in both club’ future after the Black Country side’s recent upturn in form.
