There was some reason to cheer for Leicester City fans at long last after securing a draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Leicester drew 2-2 with the Seagulls and although it was a well-earned point, it still leaves them 14 points off Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have a game in hand.

For the travelling Foxes fans, who sung a hilarious chant after Stephy Mavididi’s goal, it was a sign that there is still life in the club yet.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is planning for next season and his squad selection proved that, including a special moment for one youngster.

Jake Evans reacts to making senior debut for Leicester City

After Jeremy Monga became the second-youngest Premier league debutant of all time, it wasn’t going to be long before Jake Evans got his opportunity.

Evans has been labelled the ‘heir’ to Jamie Vardy’s throne and although only brief, the 16-year-old was substituted on in stoppage time at the Amex Stadium.

It was a day the 16-year-old will never forget and he posted a touching message in which he thanked people in his journey on Instagram.

He said: “A dream come true to have made my premier league debut. Grateful for the opportunity hopefully many more to come.

“A personal note: I would like to thank all of my family and coaches involved in my journey so far that have pushed me when times got tough from nearly getting released at a young age to playing in the premier league. who have got me to the places and become the player I am today.”

Why did Jake Evans wear a sponsorless shirt?

Just like Monga’s sponsorless shirt, Evans also sported the exact same kind of kit that looked like a training top.

Due to Premier League rules, players under the age of 18 must wear kits that don’t feature gambling sponsors.

To add to this, the league have implemented a rule that will introduce a blanket ban entirely on front-of-shirt sponsors that feature gambling companies.
