Leicester City are close to confirming the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager.

Van Nistelrooy has been linked with the Foxes job ever since Steve Cooper was sacked by the East Midlands club.

Graham Potter and David Moyes were among some of the candidates linked with the role but Potter turned down Leicester whilst Moyes never seemed concrete.

Carlos Corberan also ruled himself out of the Leicester job on Wednesday.

When will Ruud van Nistelrooy be announced as the new Leicester manager?

As revealed by The Telegraph, Van Nistelrooy is expected to be confirmed by Leicester tomorrow.

The Premier League icon was most recently a part of the Manchester United backroom staff before taking charge on an interim basis following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.

Before that he won a domestic double in his one and only season as a senior manager at PSV Eindhoven before leaving with one game of the 2022/23 campaign due to a lack of support from the board.

Van Nistelrooy is highly regarded in the coaching world and is deemed an exciting appointment.

It’s more than likely that Ben Dawson, Andrew Hughes, and Danny Alcock will be the trio of coaches in charge of Leicester against the Bees.

In which case, the Dutchman will have to wait until the Foxes face West Ham United on Tuesday 3 December to take to the dugout for the first time.
