Leicester City will have a much-welcomed distraction from their Premier League exertions this weekend as they travel to Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round.
Leicester thrashed QPR 6-2 to reach the next stage of the competition, and it will be the third time they’ve met Man United this season, having lost 5-2 in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.
For Ruud van Nistelrooy, it’s his first time back at Old Trafford since leaving the club in October, and he will be desperate to pull off a famous upset.
The Foxes are currently 18th in the Premier League, and although United are only five places above them in the table, winning this fixture would still be a huge shock.
While Ruben Amorim is looking forward to seeing Van Nistelrooy, the Dutchman has also already made his feelings known about the fixture.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s thoughts on Man United FA Cup tie
It’s been a mostly miserable campaign for Leicester, who have spent the majority of it battling relegation at the bottom of the Premier League.
Unfortunately, slipping back into the Championship looks on the cards, with many supporters already accepting their fate.
However, some will have wanted a long run in the FA Cup, including Van Nistelrooy, whose preference was to draw a lower-league side at home.
That being said, the 48-year-old has mentioned how ‘special’ it will be when Leicester travel to Manchester United on Friday night.
“I was hoping for a home game against a team in the league below us maybe. But the first team that got out was United and we were second,” Van Nistelrooy said.
“It’s going to be the third time for United v Leicester in three different competitions. It will be special to go there.”
Leicester City’s head-to-head record vs Man United
A run of just one win in eight league games won’t fill many with confidence that Leicester can pull off a shock result on Friday night.
Their recent record against United also suggests they’re in for a difficult evening as they’ve lost of their last six in all competitions, last tasting victory against the Red Devils in May 2021.
