Leicester City are gearing up for the transfer window where Ruud van Nistelrooy will need to make some important decisions.
Van Nistelrooy must improve multiple positions in January for Leicester to survive relegation in 2025.
Whilst it isn’t public information where the Foxes are strengthening, they have been linked to multiple defenders and attacking midfielders.
Leicester have shown interest in Atalanta’s Ben Godfrey, the former Everton centre-back now playing in Serie A, as well as Newcastle United winger Miguel Almiron.
But whilst improving the squad is necessary to climb the Premier League table, the Dutchman also knows resolving the futures of three out-of-contract stars is just as important.

Leicester City must hand Jamie Vardy a new contract
Speculation over Jamie Vardy’s future was rife last summer as he was out of contract after firing Leicester to the Championship title.
Vardy ended up signing a one-year extension but the Foxes legend, who turns 38 in the middle of January, will need to be offered another deal to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.
Since signing for just £1 million from Fleetwood Town in the summer of 2012, the Englishman has arguably become the club’s greatest-ever centre-forward.
From winning the Premier League title to breaking numerous records, supporters never want the ‘unstoppable’ Vardy to retire and will urge him to sign another short-term contract.
Vardy, who was labelled a freak athlete by Robert Huth, is deserving of a new deal after continuing his relentless appetite for scoring goals in England’s top flight.

Leicester have Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward contract decisions to make
Whilst handing Vardy a new contract should be an easy decision, the other two out of contract are second and third-choice goalkeepers, Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen.
Mads Hermansen is the nailed first-choice at Leicester however, the Dane did suffer an injury in the defeat to Newcastle.
Ward replaced him at half-time in that game but didn’t cover himself in glory. It was only the Welshman’s fourth appearance this term after starting the three Carabao Cup fixtures.
Third-choice Iversen, meanwhile, was denied a deadline-day move after Leicester refused to budge on their hefty asking price.
With Championship clubs sniffing for the 27-year-old, who hasn’t played a single minute this term, the likely scenario is watching him leave for nothing.
Iversen could leave for free alongside Ward, although it remains to be seen what van Nistelrooy decides to do in the coming months.
