The Dutchman had his first training session as Leicester boss on Sunday and full focus will be on the game at the King Power Stadium.
With some Leicester stars a doubt due to injury, there is a sense of unknown about what team Van Nistelrooy will pick.
But according to some Foxes fans, the 48-year-old should make one big decision early on.

Leicester fans want Hamza Choudhury to start as right-back against West Ham
One of Leicester’s biggest problems this season has been the right-hand side of defence.
Wout Faes and James Justin were woeful defensively at the weekend and both are facing calls to be dropped from the starting line-up.
With Ricardo Pereira are out injured, the lack of options on the right-hand side of defence are looking sparse, which may explain why the Foxes have been linked with defender Hiroki Sekine.
But one fan called for Hamza Choudhury, who has made three appearances all season and played just 14 minutes of Premier League football, to start.

It’s a position that Choudhury is well-versed to having played there 10 times under Enzo Maresca, winning seven of those games and five of them resulting in a clean sheet.

Many fans were in agreement with the claim, with one saying: “If Ruud is going to play like Enzo with RB stepping into DM, it’s becoming a no-brainer.”
Another stated: “Think most of us would be willing to give Hamza a go, given the state of we are at RB atm.
“It’s desperate but may be an improvement on current position,” said a third.
This person wrote: “Atm he’d be our best CB or RB and I’m being deadly serious. He’s very very rarely let us down when called upon.”

Leicester City Predicted XI to face West Ham United
Despite the calls for Choudhury to start, it feels unlikely that we will see Van Nistelrooy make a decision as big as that.
Given the short turnaround in games too, it’s hard to foresee anything other than a 4-2-3-1 formation for the Foxes.
One of the more controversial calls may see Jamie Vardy drop out of the starting XI. At 37, Vardy isn’t getting any younger and may need to come off the bench in the second half to preserve his energy, opening the door for Patson Daka to get a first start of the season.
Faes is likely to partner Jannik Vestergaard in defence whilst Victor Kristiansen will return to the XI after Luke Thomas started ahead of him on Saturday.
A midfield pairing of Boubakary Soumare and Wilfred Ndidi will be complimented by an attacking trio of Stephy Mavididi, Bilal El Khannouss in the number 10 role and Facundo Buonanotte on the right side behind the striker.
